Database Integration - Simple

CountThings from Photos Windows App allows you to customize your Forms with Database Integration .
When creating your Form, you can connect a database to CountThings from Photos App and import relevant data for your counting.
Database Integration Settings
1. Go to SettingsIntegration ➜ Select Database Option
2. Assuming that you don’t have an already existing database connection, click “+” button to add one. If you already have existing database connections, select the relevant one using the dropdown.
3. Add database connection window will appear. Your company’s IT department can offer you access to the required credentials:
A. Choose if you want to use an existing data connection (e.g. No, I’d like to specify the connection parameters myself)
B. Click Next
C. Select the Provider using the dropown (e.g. Microsoft SQL Server)
D. Write the Server Name or select it using the dropdown (e.g. 192.168.0.25)
E.  Select the Authentication type using the dropdown (e.g. Server authentication)
F. Write your User name and the Password (e.g. User name: Admin123)
G. Write the Database name or select it using the dropdown (e.g. Products)
H. Click Finish
I. You will be able to see your new Database connection
J. Click Save in the Settings Window
Import Database to your Form
If you’re not familiar with our Form feature, please visit this guide.
1. Go to Settings Forms
2. Click on +NEW FORM ➜ Give your Form a relevant name (e.g. Products) ➜ Click Ok
3. Click on +ADD FIELD ➜ Click on the “+” button for DropdownClose
4. From Import values from ➜ Select Database ➜ Click Import
5. Import from database window will appear:
A. Check if you have the right Database Connection selected
B. Choose the relevant Table to import data from ➜ use the dropdown (e.g. ProductType). Here you will be able to see all the tables from your Database.
C. Choose the relevant Column to import ➜ use the dropdown (e.g. Name)
D. Click Ok
6. Your Dropdown description will automatically be changed to the name of the imported column (e.g. Name), and you will be able to see the added Values by scrolling down the screen.
7. Repeat the process by adding the data relevant for your counting. In our example we added 3 more dropdowns and imported 3 more product data from our database (e.g. Size, Length and Bundle Pieces
8. This is how our Customize Menu Window looks like for our Form example ➜ Click Save & Exit
9. Save again in Settings Window
Use the imported database in the Counting Process
A. Open your photo
B. Make sure your Active Counting Template matches the products you want to count
C. Open the Form Filler
D. Select the Name of your products using the dropdown (e.g. Rebar)
E.Select the Size of your products using the dropdown (e.g. #3(10))
F. Select the Length of your products using the dropdown (e.g. 18’0”)
G.Select the Bundle Pieces for your products using the dropdown (e.g. 3)
H. Click Count
I.Click Save
Extra Steps
If you want to sync all the database values added in your form, follow the next steps:
1. Settings FormsSelect your created Form (e.g. Products)
2. Dropdown SettingsProperties ➜ Check Sync in form
3. Repeat the process for each dropdown (e.g. Size, Length and Bundle Pieces)
4. Save & Exit ➜ Save again
Now, when you select the name of your product, you will be able to select only the Sizes, Lengths and Bundle Pieces matching the that type of product. The Sizes, Lengths and Bundle Pieces will also sync according to your database.
