Copywriter/communication intern

CountThings is a Silicon Valley based technology company, with operations in Brasov Romania. Our expertise is in the Computer Vision area. We offer custom software development services and off-the-shelf app/software that count and measure things automatically from images and videos.

We are looking for a candidate who is motivated to learn and gain experience in explaining complex technical concepts in a simple way using English writing and visuals. (Illustrations, images, screenshots, videos)

Some of the visuals will be done by the candidate and some visuals will be done by graphics art professionals in coordination with the candidate.

The candidate should be willing to:

  • Learn visual creation tools like Snagit and Camtasia or the Adobe creative cloud to create visuals for communications.
  • Collaborate with graphics arts professionals for creating visuals.
  • Communicate with the technical team to understand the concepts that need to be communicated.
  • Communicate with clients to understand their context and needs and get feedback on our communications.

Tasks include:

  • Write and evolve user guides that:
  • Explain complex technical concepts in a simple way to put the readers in the context and educate them on the benefits they get from using certain functionalities of our products.
  • Work with the technical team to understand concepts. Communicate the concepts in simple and easy-to-read English plus visuals.
  • Provide “how-to” instructions to guide the user on how to perform certain tasks.The instructions will contain directions in English plus visuals.
  • Write new content and evolve existing content for marketing communication like websites, Advertisements (Google Ads, Facebook, Microsoft Ads), case studies, emails, and social media posts.
  • Work with translators and foreign copywriters to facilitate the localization of the communication to multiple languages and cultures.

Copywriting and Quality Assurance for UX Localization

CountThings is a Silicon Valley based technology company, with operations in Cupertino California, and Brasov Romania. Our expertise is in the Computer Vision area. We offer custom software development services and off-the-shelf app/software that count and measure things automatically from images and videos.

We keep evolving our solutions and we need help in evolving the relevant localized material in multiple languages:

  • Text & messages within the app
  • Guides (“how-to” instructions)
  • Marketing communication materials like websites, Advertisements (Google Ads, Facebook, Microsoft Ads), case studies, emails, and social media posts

We are looking for freelancers in various countries to test and propose improvements to the localized material in their language/culture.

Tasks include:

  • Test our localized version of our apps/software for their language/culture and propose changes/improvements
  • Ask a few other people to try the app, observe their first-time use, and notice if anything is confusing or annoying in the process. Report the findings and propose changes to improve the user experience
  • Review our localized material and proposed changes
  • Give comments on comments and feedback from others. (Validate feedback from others)
  • Translate various materials from English to their language/culture. Make adjustments based on what is appropriate in their language. This should be more of a Copywriting task than just translation
